SCOOP: Eleven Years On, The Fast Show Is Coming Back With Fosters

Do you miss the nineties? Things not so funny for you these days? Lucky for you that every star from that particular heyday of Ha-Ha seems to be coming around again.

Following up on the return of Alan Partridge and Vic and Bob, the next big names of UK comedy to line up for an on-screen revival are the team behind The Fast Show. Bleeding Cool has learned that Paul Whitehouse, Charlie Higson, Simon Day, Arabella Weir and John Thompson are currently in advanced talks to reteam and shoot some new material. (American readers may know the show as Brilliant!)

Last time they were on the BBC, but this time, like Partridge, Vic and Bob, before them, they’ll be making their comeback online, and sponsored by Australian beer brand Fosters. Judging from the Fosters-funded stuff already out there, the sponsorship is very discreet – moreso than if you were to watch a comedy show on a commercial TV channel, for example. So I’m certainly not complaining.

There’s still some dotting and crossing to be done on the contracts, I believe, but it shouldn’t be too long at all until we’re heralding the return of a dozen careworn catchphrases and some of the best comedy performers – still, to this day – that we’ve got here in Britain.

We’ll bring you more as we get it. Which will be nice. Suits me, sir. Etc.
