The Walking Dead Is The New Twilight At San Diego Comic Con 2011

This year, attendees of the San Diego Comic Con can use the MySched app to select the panels and events they are interested in attending and print themselves out a schedule. But there’s another button to see what the most popular panels of the show are.

The Twilight panel comes in 35th.

And right at the top are the Walking Dead panel, the Big Bang Theory panel and the Game Of Thrones panel. Each featuring the cast, writers and crew of each show. And all are being held in Ballroom 20, which seems to have become the new Hall H. People have said that the movies have been abandoning Comic Con… instead Comic Con is abandoning movies, for television.

Also running zombies beat sparkly vampires.

Both Walking Dead and Big Bang Theory follow Torchwood: Miracle Day on the Friday… so look forward to a Torchwood panel with no one in the audience who watches the show, just sitting in their seats waiting for zombies or geeks.

The big Sony panel is in 4th place by the way. Movies haven’t completely abandoned Comic Con. But they have abandoned comics… the only panel in the top fifty popular panels is the Dark Horse spotlight panel on… Joss Whedon.
