Detective Comics 27 May Fund Defence Of The Accused Killer Of Its Owner

In 2009, Batman collector and multimillionaire Ben Novack Jr, was tortured and murdered three months after his mother was killed.

And now his copy of Detective Comics #27 and much more may be put up for auction with Heritage Auction Galleries, to liquidate the collection, valued up to $800,000. But now there are moves by his widow Narcy Novack, facing the death sentence on the chanrge of murdering the pair, taking money and trying to frame her daughter and Ben's step-daughter, to use any proceeds to fund her defence.

And it's that step-daughter, May Abad, who may be able to stop the auction going ahead. And who has persuaded a judge to halt the auction, giving her time to find both storage and insurance for the extensive Batman collection.

It was Abad who used to go with Ben to comic conventions. But Narcy is the sole heir to the estate, even though she hated Ben's collection. If she is convicted she won't be able to inherit however, with the money then passing to May Abad's teenage children.

That's if the collection is sold. May is trying to prevent that, as it has sentimental value for her, and is planning a second job to pay for storage and insurance.
