New Trailers On The Horizon For Hugo Cabret & Unspecified Jonah Hill Flick – UPDATED

Hannah Shaw Williams writes for Bleeding Cool:

I instantly pass harsh judgement on anyone who deliberately shows up late to avoid the trailers before the start of a film. Trailers are great, and in many cases turn out to be far better than the film they're actually advertising, so seeing them in their full glory on that massive screen with Carmina Burana blasting out in Dolby Surround Sound is the best way to enjoy them. Therefore, if you're planning on going to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 or The Green Lantern when they're first released, here's a couple of tidbits to convince you further. And because this is 21st century journalism, the sources used for this article are Facebook and Twitter, respectively.

First up, Martin Scorsese's new mystery adventure Hugo Cabaret, based on the book by Brian Selznick about an orphan who lives inside the walls of a train station, is going to be debuting its first trailer ahead of the final installment in the Harry Potter series. The film stars Chloe "Hit Girl" Moretz of Kick Ass fame as well as Asa Butterfield from The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas in the title role.

Jonah Hill has also dropped hints about an upcoming trailer, though this is more of a tease since he refuses to name names. On his Twitter page, Hill has said to his fans:

Heard there might be little surprise in front of Green Lantern next week…

You cheeky minx, Hill, don't leave us hanging like that. Assuming he's not referring to some delicious new flavour of popcorn, and also assuming that he's referring to one of his own films, the most likely candidates are the big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street (based on the TV series that starred a young Johnny Depp) or The Sitter, a new slacker comedy from Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green. It looks like you'll have to get in line for Green Lantern to find out which, though.

UPDATE: It's Moneyball with Hill and Brad Pitt. Apparently some projectionists have received it already.

Green Lantern opens next week on June 17th, and Deathly Hallows Part 2 opens next month on July 15th.
