Kickstarter: Varney The Vampire

Marcio Takara, artist for The Incredibles and Incorruptible over at Boom!, is working with writer Scott Massino on a dark comedy comic, Varney The Vampire, and are looking for your funding over on Kickstarter.

With one issue finished, they are looking for $6000 to fund the second and third issues compeletion, as well as creating advertising, and will pitch the completed book to Image, self publishing if that doesn't work.

The comic sees Varney The Vampre trying to reclaim what he believes are the rights to his own life, plagiarised by Bram Stoker, and set the record straight about vampires, and himself in particular. It's based on a real nineteeth century novel that preceded Bram Stoker's Dracula, that introduced vampire traits such as fangs, leaving two puncture wounds on the necks of victims,  hypnotic powers, and superhuman strength.

And what if he's still around and a successful rock guitarist?

Naturally there are a stack of rewards for backing the Kickstarter fundraising. But here's a taster so that you know what you're getting into…
