Images From Pedro Almodovar’s New Horror Film

The Skin I Am In, aka The Skin I Inhabit, aka La Piel que Habito is set for a Cannes unveiling. Would that I could be there.

Here’s how I set it up before:

The screenplay has been adapted from Thierry Jonquet’s novel Tarantula, originally Mygale.

I’ve not read the book, I’m afraid, but I do know that it’s quite full of… ‘deviant’ behaviour. Human Centipede deviant? Actually… I don’t know what to say about that, because I’d hate to spoil anything, but I think I’ve caught whiff of a rather audacious, moderately barmy twist that Almodovar is going to have a hard time hiding from viewers.

The film stars Antonio Banderas and Elena Anaya, both of whom I’m very fond of.
