VIDEOS: Zombies Trying Out For A Role In Steve Niles’ Remains

Steve Niles and Kieron Dwyer‘s Remains is, sort of, Return of the Gambling Dead. Here’s the official blurb for their original comics:

When the world goes mad, a blackjack dealer and an exotic dancer are mysteriously spared. But now they’re trapped in Reno, surrounded by a veritable army of the undead—and with no idea what might wait for them beyond the city limits if they can escape. Are they the last man and woman on Earth? And if so, how long can they last?

There’s an adaptation of the film underway now, under director Colin Theys. Shock have posted a video from the Norwalk Patch that shows several hopefuls auditioning for roles as zombies.

Good luck, people.

The film’s make up man, Ben Chester, promises that his take on zombies will be fresh:

The post-apocalyptic zombies in the movie will be victims of a nuclear power plant explosion and some will be listless from the effects of the radiation while others will be energized. The living dead will have a deformed appearance and melted skin, which Chester said he hasn’t seen in other movies.

Okay, fresh was the wrong word. I should have said distinct.

The film is headed to DVD and then the Chillers channel.
