Sort-Of-Trailer And Details For Lord Of The Rings Extended Edition Blu-Rays Arrive

Though it’s not clear yet if the discs will actually become available later in 2011 or not until 2012 (and I suppose they could even slip into 2013) details of the Lord of the Rings trilogy Extended Edition blu-rays are bobbing to the surface.

Amazon have the pre-order price set for $83.99, down from an RRP $119.98. This will include each of the films on Blu-ray, and all of the “appendices” on DVD. As well as this, the fairly-rare Costa Botes documentaries from the reissued short/long hybrid DVDs are apparently included also.

And while Amazon are also hosting a trailer, to my eye it looks as though all of the footage included is from the theatrical versions of the films. Curious.

Oh – and note that nothing like this has turned up on international Amazon sites yet. It’s just the US we’re talking about here.
