Christchurch Comic Shop In Earthquake Danger

The facebook page of Compulsion Comics in Christchurch, New Zealand, has been reporting on the state of the city and country in the wake of serious earthquake disaster.

The day after they were promoting Nathan Fillon’s attempt to buy the rights to Firefly, they were assuring people that everyone was alive, telling concerned customers;

Hi everyone, all staff of Comics are ok and safe. Town was very dicey and it will be a long time before we can really assess the extent of the damage. We hope all of our customers are well. Take care of each other people.

Before adding two days later

Day three people. Long way to go. With the Grand Chancellor hotel looming over the CBD it is very unlikely that anyone will return to the city centre soon. We would really love to hear from our customers and friends so please like this to let us know you are ok. Once again, take care everyone.

Described as being “directly in the shadow of the Grand Central Hotel”, one of the tallest buildings in Christchurch that’s been leaning rather (pictured), with expectations it may collapse, the managers are currently discussing the future fate of the store.
