Sky are sinking a great deal of love, money and hope into their mini-series, Neverland. Starring Rhys Ifans as Captain Hook, Charlie Rowe as Peter Pan, Anna Friel as some sort of new character and Bob Hoskins in his Hook role of Smee (does that make this a Hook prequel too? No, it does not) the two-parter is being directed by Nick Willing. He’s something of an old hand at this kind of thing, having previously brought us two retellings of Alice in Wonderland, Oz “reinvention” Tin Man and the TV version of Jason and the Argonauts.
The miniseries is expected to premiere next Christmas, late 2011, on Sky. Of course.
