The Justice League XXX Interviews: Talon Is Green Lantern

It’s time for the last Justice League XXX interview. And it’s probably the funniest.

Last week I was invited to the set of the Extreme ComiXXX film, Justice League XXX where I interviewed members of the cast and crew. What follows is a transcript of  those interviews.  Two things before we get to the good stuff.

Firstly, I had never been to any sort of porn set prior to this, I’m not in the porno business, I make comic books so these will have a bit of an outsider’s perspective (even though I’ve seen a metric-shit-ton of porn in my day.) If you’re looking for insider scoop, I apologize.

Secondly, this is the first thing I’ve ever transcribed from a tape and as such, is a bit verbose (I guess you’re supposed to cut out “Uh’s” and “ah’s” when you transcribe but I like the “Uh’s” and “ah’s”) In any case, here’s every word of my conversations with the pornographers behind Justice League XXX.

Tony Fleecs: So, it’s Talin?

Talon: Yeah, T-A-L-O-N.

Tony Fleecs: T-A– See, that’s why I had it spelled wrong, I couldn’t google you correctly.

Talon: Oh yeah. It’s like– Like a eagle’s claw.

Tony Fleecs: Right. Um, so I got some questions here that are like, uh everybody answers the same questions y’know? And then I’ve got some more personalized, Green Lantern-centric stuff.

Talon: Alright.

Tony Fleecs: So first off, do you like– Do you read comic books? Have ou ever read comic books at all.

Talon:

Tony Fleecs: It’s ok if you have’t.

Talon: Some. Very little. Not much.

Tony Fleecs: Right. Um, in a film like this, when you’re doing dialog– You said you shoot gonzo mostly. A lot of your movies are–

Talon: Yeah. I mean, I’ve done features. I’ve been a lead for Wicked but I’m more of a gonzo– I mean, I like– I don’t like features as much.

Tony Fleecs: Right.

Talon: I prefer just sex.

Tony Fleecs: When you’re doing dialog scenes, obviously there is acting. You’re playing Green Lantern uh, but is there– Is there any attempt to play Green Lantern while you fuck?

Talon: No.

Tony Fleecs: You’re not thinking about how he might fuck?

Talon: Naw. No. Not unless they put a big emphasis on it. No but they don’t– They generally just put a big emphasis on the fucking.

Tony Fleecs: Well, I was talking to Jerry the producer– the owner I guess, and he was saying that it’s important to do the super hero stuff the right way and then also do the fucking stuff the right way. So you have– you know, a quality piece on both the sides.

Talon: Yeah.

Tony Fleecs: Have you done research into the character? Like did you look him up at all? Or do you just sort of–

Talon: Nah, Jerry did but I didn’t.

Tony Fleecs: You just sort of show up. They slap the stuff on you.

Talon: Yeah. Well my stuff is simple. It’s pretty simple. There’s not much research.

Tony Fleecs: What’s the– Uh, do you nerd out for anything? Like are you into something? You said you were a– you were into the stock market.

Talon: Trading, yeah. The financial markets. I’m obsessed with it. 10-11 years I’ve been studying trading. I’ve worked for firms, I had licenses, I worked for firms. That’s my obsession.

Tony Fleecs: That seems like it would pay off a lot better than being obsessed with comic books… like I am.

Talon: Yeah. Trading’s very lucrative if you– I mean, I used to make a lot of money. I blew up a lot of accounts and made mistakes but I’ve learned a lot and someday if I do use it– it’s very valuable. It’s very– It’s incredible money.

Tony Fleecs: Right.

Talon: I used to make sick money. But, y’know I made a lot of mistakes. So– But I had some success. I once turned 25 thousand down to 15 thousand into 800 thousand in 5 months. In the year 2000. So it can be lucrative if you do it right. But I’ve made a lot of mistakes. But I learned a lot. We’ll see, maybe someday it’ll pay off.

Tony Fleecs: Does playing a high profile super hero role mean the same in the adult industry as it does in mainstream Hollywood? Like, uh- does it make your rate go up at all? Is it a big payday? Uh do you do it so you can afford to do more smaller–

Talon: For some people it does but I’m– I prefer more gonzo stuff. So for me it doesn’t make a big difference like it does for someone like an Evan Stone. But he’s already established. Y’know, for some of these younger kids, yeah. It could help them. Because being in a parody could give them more exposure. But for me, I’ve been around, I’ve kinda done a lot. So it’s–

Tony Fleecs: Yeah there’s eyes on this that aren’t on other stuff. There’s guys that if they– If they go out and buy a porno, they might just only buy this one.

Talon: Yeah. Oh definitely, with this type of role.

Tony Fleecs: So, you said you don’t know about Green Lantern so you probably don’t know that DC Comics’ Green Lantern is probably, I think most famous for being confronted by an old black man and being accused of being a racist. Do you know about– you don’t know about that?

Talon: Naw, I don’t know about it.

Tony Fleecs: Here’s what happened, I printed it out.

Talon: Ok.

Tony Fleecs: So this old black guy, he says, “Y’know, I been reading about you Green Lantern and you done considerable for the purple man and the blue skinned man. Uh, but uh– The only skins you’ve never bothered with were the black skins! And I wanna know like, how come?” Y’know? But I’m like, look, I understand like if y’know– you wanna make a statement here but if the Green Lantern’s saving the world… Then he’s saving black people, right? What do you think?

Talon: Yup. I think so.

Tony Fleecs: You agree? Yeah, I mean he’s a good dude. I think- You think maybe they think– what? He’s being neglectful? What, he’s supposed to go just hang out with people on the street? He’s trying– He’s trying to save the universe all the time.

Talon: Exactly.

Tony Fleecs: Uh. Ok. So with the upcoming big screen Green Lantern, the Ryan– The Ryan Reynolds film, uh I guess there’s been talk about spinning this off into it’s own thing. Like you– there would be a Green Lantern film. Have you heard about this?

Talon: Possibly. I’ve heard that, yeah.

Tony Fleecs: But you said– Uh, would you be interested in doing that?

Talon: We’ll see if they want to use me or someone else. Whatever works. I don’t know, we’ll see what they offer me.

Tony Fleecs: Right right.

Talon: It’s not a– We’ll see. I like fucking more than I like acting.

Tony Fleecs: Right. Me too man.

Talon: (laughs)

Tony Fleecs: Uh– Oh I was being clever here, see? I said, “was there any talk of spinning you off into your own solo film… Not solo–”

Talon: Solo.

Tony Fleecs: “Solo like…”

Talon: (Laughs) Yeah yeah, masturbation.

(All laugh)

Talon: No that’s for the gay boys. (laughs)

Tony Fleecs: Alright, so you’re not familiar with the DC Comics character Talon, are you?

Talon: Talon?

Tony Fleecs: Yeah. It’s pretty wild, right? He’s like a– Like an alternate universe Robin. Like on this other earth instead of Batman there’s this Owl character Night Owl–

Talon: Wow.

Tony Fleecs: And this guy’s like his Robin. The Talon.

Talon- Wow that’s cool. No, I wasn’t aware of that.

Tony Fleecs: Also, Marvel has a Talon.

Talon: Really?

Tony Fleecs: Yeah.

Talon: Wow.

Tony Fleecs: Yeah, he– He’s way wild looking. Look at that guy. Marvel Comics’ Talon.

Talon: Alright. Right.

Tony Fleecs: Uh, he’s like a cat. Uh, and also he’s very strong but for some reason he’s a sorcerer’s apprentice. I don’t– Like why would that guy be a sorcerer’s apprentice?

Talon: (laughs) He looks like uh…

Tony Fleecs: He looks like he should just be kicking people’s asses all day.

Talon: He should kick the sorcerer’s ass.

Tony Fleecs: Yeah well apparently he’s in the Gaurdians of the Galaxy. I don’t know. Well, I uh– I appreciate you talking to me. I don’t know if I have anything el–

Talon: Thanks. Thanks, man.

Tony Fleecs: Thanks for taking the time.

Talon: Ok. Be good.

Tony Fleecs: Yeah man, thanks.
