First Look Machete Featurette Tells Us Why Machete Don’t Text And More

This Friday, Machete finally makes his way to UK cinemas. To herald his arrival (as if the explosions and screaming wouldn’t be enough of a tip-off), here’s a new interview package* with Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba revealing, amongst other things, the origin of the already-immortal catchphrase “Machete don’t text”.

I think they may just have ret-conned that coining a little, but it makes for a good story.

Now… where was Ethan Manquis, Rodriguez’ co-director on this picture? Not camera shy, is he?

I’m glad we live in a world where Danny Trejo is a star and that films like Machete get big global releases. It’s definitely also great counter-programming to Potter. Last time I looked, none of the Potter films featured people using innards and gizzards in quite the way Machete does.
