Hang On – It’s MEL GIBSON Replacing Heather Graham In Hangover 2?

Production is underway on The Hangover 2, as you can well see from the onset snap above (from Popsugar). Most of the leads are back, but Heather Graham’s Jade has unfortunately not been given a role this time around.

E! Online revealed that she won’t be back at the same time as, sadly, reprising an old quote from the actress in which she expressed her dreams for the sequel:

I think Stu [as played by Ed Helms] should get her pregnant, and that she should do a pregnant strip dance. I know it sounds wrong, but it sounds so right.

Er… does it?

A rep from Warner Bros. said that we’d “understand” why Graham is not in the film once we see it; I expect the answer may instead lie in balance sheets and offers made to her agent.

But E! also spoke to Sasha Barrese (who, as Stu’s fiance Tracy, should be ashamed of the hideous, misogynist stereotype she played in the first film) and she teased an “unbelieveable” cameo in the movie:

It’s the best cameo you’ve ever seen in your entire life. It’s a guy, that’s all I’m going to say. It’s the best.

This could have provided us with a guessing game to play (it’s Sunday…) but there’s an old bit of chatter that might have answered the question before it was even asked. Back in December 2009, Hollyscoop ran the following quote from director Todd Phillips:

We are going to try and get Tiger Woods for the second one…Yeah help him regain his image. Mike [Tyson] loved doing The Hangover because he loved fucking with the image people had of him. He knew we were not making fun of him but of the image people projected on him.

UPDATE: Still no idea if the planned Tiger Woods cameo is going to happen, but Page Six are reporting that Mel Gibson is going to be appearing in the film, and one assumes he’ll be playing himself. Blimey. There’s a curious PR move for you. It’s just like Michael Barrymore going on Celebrity Big Brother but with a global profile. And… well, I wouldn’t want to compare Barrymore to Gibson. There’s shades of black just like there are shades of grey.
