Zack Snyder: Film To Focus On Early Days Of Superman, Not Based On Any Comics In Particular

There have certainly been rumours about the next Superman movie’s plot, but we’d heard nothing too concrete from Zack Snyder or any of his collaborators. Until now.

Speaking to Films Actu, he’s revealed a couple of very interesting details. Here’s what Google Translate made of the French website’s copy:

As I have already explained, the film will focus on early days of Superman, so there will be no links with other films. This is not a remake then. Similarly, although I still can not talk about the script, I can assure you that this new Superman will not be based on a comic book in particular.

So – while it’s a kind of “Superman starts out” reboot story, it certainly won’t be pegged to any particular comic plot thread. This little pinch of news might really only be worth pennies, but they’re pennies you can take to the bank.
