Looks Like George Lucas’ Animated Musical About Fairies Is About To Get Going In Singapore

Earlier in the year, Heat Vision revealed that a top-secret musical toon about fairies was in the work at Lucasfilm. The screenwriter of Elf, David Berenbaum, was revealed to be the man penning the script and Kevin Munroe, who has the Dylan Dog movie Dead of Night coming along soon, was set to direct. Since then… silence.

But I think it’s about to go into production at the Lucasfilm Singapore. Please, nobody tell Banksy.

Here’s what I read at Today Online:

Lucasfilm Singapore is now ramping up for the production of “one of the biggest” projects it has handled – and its parent company’s first animated film of its own, a Lucasfilm spokesperson in the United States told MediaCorp.

Significantly, the production of the animated feature will be done here, while only the pre- and post-production processes will be carried out in the United States.

As the film is still a work-in-progress, Lucasfilm declined to give further details on it or its expected release date.¬†Until now, the film production company’s work on animation films has been for other clients.

Now, if this isn’t the fairy film (it is, though, I’m sure), I wouldn’t know what it is. Another Clone Wars, maybe? The time frame seems to allow Munroe to still be the director, presuming that he can be boarding away in the States now as the Singapore squad gets topped up with new recruits.
