As I was telling you the other day, this longer trailer (longer than the first teaser, that is) has been playing in some cinemas. Good to see it online, where more of us can get at it. Still wish I was watching it forty feet tall, though.
The trick of shifting emphasis onto Cogburn without writing Ms. Ross out of the picture means that this trailer is only slightly misrepresentative. If it means more bums on seats, good – because I certainly don’t expect many people to come out of this film disappointed no matter what they thought they were going in for.
Note the use of Johnny Cash’s version of God’s Gonna Cut You Down. Markedly different to Moby’s take, don’t you think? And rather convincingly applied here, I’d say.
