MTV Geek Launches… Ish (UPDATE)

As exclusively (and a little bit repeatedly) broken by Bleeding Cool, MTV has launched their new MTV Geek website, emanating from the online side of the organisation – and nothing to do with the existing Splashpage MTV site. It describes itself as;

the home of MTV Comics and your daily destination for the latest in comic books, games, animation, toys, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, technology and more. We'll have all the latest previews, exclusive sneak peeks, behind the scenes videos, and event coverage along with MTV original comics!

The previously Bleeding Cooled Agent Mom is expected as one of those comics. However none are listed yet. And indeed a number of the features, an introduction by Stan Lee, a piece on Marvel Vs Capcom 3, a studio walkaround with graphic novelist Jen Wang, a game onsole that looks like R2D2, how Ryan Reynolds describes Geoff John's Green Lantern Secret Origin as his bible for the character, Teenage Mutant Ninja Toys and video intercviews of comic creators from Baltimore and Dragon*Con. Not everything is working, a number of videos aren't viewable outside the USA and the blog just reverts to the main site's homepage.

I expect these teething problems will be fixed soon. And it's time to welcome another multi-media big corporate funded website for the increasingly crowded comic-geek community!
