Yes, British People, You Will Get A Wednesday New Comics Day

Roger Fletcher of Diamond Comics Distribution gets in touch regarding the note that Diamond UK sent to retailers this morning saying that a Tuesday shipping date and a Wednesday on-sale day had not been decided for the UK.

This would have replaced the current Wednesday/Thursday shipping and Thursday on-sale dates that British shops currently work under, a day beind America.

And the note was in contradiction of Diamond USA’s press release that UK stores would get a Tuesday shipping schedule, bringing them into alignment with US shipping schedules.

Fletcher tells Bleeding Cool;

Our UK staff was getting questions from customers regarding the specifics. We told them we’d have details on the specifics drafted soon. Somehow this got translated as it wasn’t definite yet, and this was miscommunicated to retailers. We are moving forward with plans to sync the UK & U.S. release dates and give UK customers the option of day-early delivery.

Everybody cheer! And everybody toast Bob Wayne at DC Comics. I understand the change wouldn’t have happened without him.
