Warren Ellis has been talking plenty at Kapow, in London today. Lots of questions, lots of answers, lots of laughs, an unlit cigarette and a can or three of Red Bull. Amongst the jollity, he talked more about Gun Machine, his upcoming novel. That it is centred on a cop who discovers an apartment full…

It was the clear winner of Free Comic Book Day. Depsite thousands and thousands of copies being given away for free, it sells on eBay for up to $13. WhedonWatch: Joss Whedon is in Australia to speak at the Sydney Opera House. He tells the Australian Press;
It’s why Joss Whedon could find himself in his car in Los Angeles seven years ago, shaking his head at his own madness. He’d just pitched, to a very cool reception among the film executives, a Batman film that would return to the origins of the crusader-vigilante. He was talking personal epiphanies, they were talking franchise. He left empty, they went on to make a blockbuster.
You idiot, he told himself. How many more times do I need to be told that the machine doesn’t care? The machine is not aware of what is in your heart as a storyteller.

once I realized that all that’s really required for a “traditional” Archie drawing style is to follow the formula for the faces and to keep the body proportions at five to six heads tall (instead of the seven to nine heads tall used for most all other mainstream adventure stories, especially superheroes), it came quite naturally to me. I’ve discovered that everything else can be more or less my own established, dramatic drawing style…
And, the two artists inking my pencils, Joe Rubinstein and Andrew Pepoy, are wonderful! (By the way), I personally requested Rubinstein as an inker because I’ve always liked his inks on my pencils, ever since our collaboration on DC Comics’ title “Anarky.”
Moore entered the auditorium in a black t-shirt with “Property of Miscatonic University” printed on the front and was greeted with a long applause. The girl next to me excitedly whispered “Glorious beard!” as if that was the most splendid thing you could ever say about a man.

While shooting a commercial for ShootTheCentrefold.com using the actual Batmobile from the 1998 Batman movie, North Miami Beach cops pulled over the vehicle. A number of DC subscribers have contacted Bleeding Cool rather annoyed that DC Comics have told them that they can no longer get their favourite books in this fashion, and they will be cancelled with issue 10. Which means Justice League International readers will miss the final two issues of that comic, and unless they…
Greg Capullo once said that, when leaving Haunt, he had a choice between working on Batman and Wolverine, and went with the relaunch of Batman with Scott Snyder. Turns out that the temptation may have been even harder, and that he was offered the opportunity to draw Avengers Vs X-Men. In an interview he says;…
