UPDATE: The print won’t be arriving in time for a midnight screening on Thursday 26th into Friday 27th (shame!) so the tickets will now be for Friday 27th August at 9.15pm. I am e-mailing all of the entrants to let them know.
It’s nearly here again. On August 27th, Avatar will return in an extended, special edition, playing only in 3D and 3D IMAX.
The very first screening at the BFI IMAX in London’s Waterloo is going to take place on Midnight, Thursday 26th (so, very early into the 27th). Because of timezones, I’m thinking this is actually the first public IMAX screening of the extended cut anywhere. I’ve got some pairs of tickets to that screening, and I bet they won’t be very hard to give away at all.
