Bear McCreary Scoring Knights of Badassdom
You know how Phillip Glass was on call to score every last bit of Truman Burbank’s life in real time? That’s pretty much how it’s getting to be for Bear McCreary and Summer Glau. Not only did he provide the music for The Sarah Connor Chronicles, he’s also writing for the first 13 episodes of The Cape, her upcoming TV show, as well as The Knights of Badassdom, the about-to-wrap Joe Lynch picture that I joined Bleeding Cool early just to tell you about.
The gig hasn’t yet been listed on IMDB, or even at McCreary’s official site – he’s probably too busy following Glau around the woods with a keytar hanging around his neck – but it has turned up in several places, not least of which is Wikipedia.
Okay, least of which is Wikipedia, especially if we’re talking in terms of credibility. Thankfully, anyone can pick up a phone and check with “McCreary’s people” if they’ve got any doubt. This might even lead to them reporting the news on a geeky website and spreading the herald of Beary goodness to the people.
McCreary also scored Joe Lynch’s only previous feature, the astonishing Wrong Turn 2. That film was like a love letter to the very idea of “kills”, as in:
Freddy: I saw a really gory bodycount film last night.
Jason: Excellent. Any good kills in there?
Freddy: They were all awesome. Man, I love me some kills.
Freddy and Jason need to get out more, maybe? But they’re onto something – a good kill, well realised, is a scene of beauty. Knights is promising a whole truck load.
The picture at the head of this post comes from Lynch’s blog on the official Knights website.
