What Else Do We Now Know About The Avengers?
That, above, is the new logo for Joss Whedon’s The Avengers movie. It comes from the film’s freshly opened official site.
Having seen the line-up unveiled officially, you may be asking “Where’s Ant Man?”, “Where’s Wasp?”. We’ve got an answer to the first of those questions, right from the horse’s mouth:
Ant Man is not in my Avengers movie.
…said Joss. And squished a dream or two in the meantime. But Wasp? No straight answer yet. Since she didn’t appear on stage, he’s been too busy and elusive to get pinned down and asked outright. But we’re not expecting her any longer. Dare you?
We know that design work is well underway, that new pre-viz staff are being recruited for the project as we speak, that on-location shooting will take place early next year. We also know that Marvel have been on the receiving end of pitches from 3D companies, either solicited or not. Will the film be shot in 3D or upconverted? That’s still a mystery – but it is being planned for 3D from the ground up.
Above all else, we know the key cast and we know that Whedon is writing and directing. Even as more details come in, I doubt they’ll prove to be as significant as those key facts.
