Is Adrien Brody Going To Be Ant Man? Very Possibly… UPDATED

Judging from a couple of recent tweets by movie blog webmasters, it’s looking like Adrien Brody is very much in the running for the role of Ant Man, maybe in The Avengers, maybe just in Edgar Wright’s Ant Man movie.

John Campea, formerly of The Movie Blog and now in charge of AMC’s Script to Screen, made the first move with the following:

Take this for what it’s worth, but I was just told Adrien Brody is most likely going to be “Ant Man” for Edgar Wright.

Then, shortly afterwards, Latino Review’s El Mayimbe followed up with:

I personally checked w/my pals at Paradigm (Adrien Brody’s agency) & at press time, YES they were pursing Ant Man but got nothing yet.

We’re expecting a full unveiling of The Avengers‘ cast during San Diego. If that really is going to happen, though maybe it isn’t (anymore), then negotiations with Brody, and possibly a number of other actors, must be fairly advanced.

UPDATE: The Playlist say that they have spoken to “sources very close to the project this morning and it’s evidently untrue.”

And, yes, I do like rumours. And clearly, so do The Playlist because they pass them all along later. Look what it always says at the bottom of this site:
