George Tillman, Jr’s Faster has a lovely cast, particularly for this kind of hokum: Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino, Maggie Grace, and Moon Bloodgood. The trailer is 20% set-up, 80% loosely associated exploitation tropes, and there’s just enough sweat on screen to render proceedings appropriately grubby.
