Mark Millar Pitched American Jesus To Mel Gibson

I'm sorry, I just think this is hilarious.

While Mark Millar is teasing his troops on Millarworld with what he calls the most exciting news of his career, he also shared his attempt to get Mel Gibson, director of Passion Of The Christ, and leaver of obscene answerphone messages, to direct American Jesus based on Chosen, Millar's comic telling the story of the Anti-Christ.

And part of his pitch was " the Dark Knight to his Year One. Seriously, those were my exact words".

Millar even wanted to have Jesus-playing Jim Cavaziel in a book-ending role

Sadly Millar states that Gibson and his people declined.

Shame. If nothing else, it would have been very very funny.
