Nimród Antal Wants To Follow Predators With Sci-Fi Drama Paraffin… Then Predators 2?

Since completing his debut feature Kontrol, Nimród Antal has had his heart set on directing a sci-fi drama he calls Paraffin. He’s kept his cards pretty close to his chest so there’s not much we know about the film’s story, or even basic premise, but Antal has just let a little bit creep out:
I can give you a teaser: men and women will build a boat out of plastic bottles in Cuba to escape oppression, right? So imagine if our world has become that oppression. You aren’t building plastic bottle boats anymore, you have to build something else to get out of here.
Some kind of spaceship? An interdimensional worm hole? Whatever it is, I’m curious to see if it actually runs on paraffin.
Antal was speaking to The Playlist, who also asked about a potential Predators sequel. And it turns out that’s just what it is: a potential Predators sequel. Antal says he has spoken to producer Robert Rodriguez about a follow up, but they’ve not yet discussed it with anybody else.
Well, it’s only a week until the studio starts calling them for that discussion, I’d suspect. All indications are that Predators will do just fine, particularly in view of it’s moderate budget.
