Movie Version of The Fall Guy Threatened, Theme Tune Included

In “early development” right now is a big screen outing for Colt Seavers, TV’s The Fall Guy. In the 80s series he was played by Lee Majors, sometime Middlesboro, KY, football hero. Who’s the modern day equivalent of Lee Majors? It would be Russell Crowe if he wasn’t such an A-lister, I suppose. Maybe they’ll go with Kurt Russell and bring my Deathproof-fuelled fantasies to life?

No. Not likely.

The LA Times report that producer Walter F. Parkes is currently working up the movie at Dreamworks. If a writer has been given the assignment, there’s no news on who yet. I think it’s safe to say we’re a while away from finding out who might direct or star in this thing.

Nostalgia will probably propel a campaign to ensure the movie has a version of the TV show’s memorable, lightly amusing theme tune. Here it is:

That first line – a cute reference to Lee Majors’ marriage to Farrah Fawcett – will definitely have to go, and there’ are a few other name drops that could use refreshing.
