Yesterday, the Digital Comic Association, a conglomeration of Japanese comic book publishers and distributors addressed their concerns to European and American websites that either host or link to scanlations – pirated comic books translated for the respective home country. If not, it’s all going to end up in court.
An official is quoted as saying that personal electronic readers have made the problem widespread and they can’t stand by any more. “Illegal websites have mushroomed rapidly in the past one or two years.”
