The Great Torchwood Budget Scandal

The Great Torchwood Budget ScandalWell, we did one for Doctor Who, why not Torchwood as well?

Live Feed has been reporting that the proposed Fox US version of Doctor Who-spinoff Torchwood won't be happening.

A source close to Fox staffers tells me that it's totally a cost and budget issue, as;

the higher-ups at FOX are more interested in producing bullshit reality shows that cost nickels compared to the real dollars that a decent sci-fi costs, even if it's produced in Vancouver. There was an idea bounced around by some of the affiliates to urge FOX to buck the industry and cut costs by refusing to hire union workers at union rates. The idea didn't go very far for obvious reasons.

Every now and then I'm given another reason to be grateful for the BBC.
