Greg Baldino's C2E2 – Finder In Color For Dark Horse Presents

Greg Baldino continues to report from the floor of C2E2 for Bleeding Cool.
Greg Baldino's C2E2 – Finder In Color For Dark Horse PresentsSo far impressions at C2E2 have been pretty good. "We've been having the time of our lives," said Nerd City member Max Minor, who along with his cohort Kesey Fleming has been seeing a lot of people come to their booth as well as enjoying the event themselves.

A lot of fans on the con floor have been excited by the number and prominence of webcomics creators all on one area. "This is my first convention and it's great," said Casey Cruzen, who with co-creator John Eberle is debuting their superheroes-with-PTSD comic The Protective at C2E2. Over at the Topatoco booth in the webcomics municipality, Wondermark creator David Malki remarked that she show had a real San Diego feel to it.

Carla Speed McNeil confided that in addition to her upcoming Finder novel Voice, to be released by Dark Horse in February, she'll also be doing a serialized story featuring her character in color for Dark Horse Presents.

Sharing booth space at the con are Byron Wilkins and Dawn Griffin. Wilkins is the creator of the comic 1977, loosely based on his own post-college years about a group of friends trying to break into the music industry against the backdrop of the late seventies. Griffin's fair is more all ages friendly with her book Zorpubert & Fred, about a pair of aliens disguised as dogs to study (and mock) Earth culture, and Abby's Adventures, the story of a little girl which according to Griffin has been a big hit with kids at C2E2 this weekend. Griffin says the Abby's Adventures books are kid friendly all the way through, but Zorpubert & Fred is maybe better for kids eight and up.
