Avatar Invites Retailers To Friday Night C2E2 Bash

On Friday night at C2E2, Avatar is hosting a bit of a party. And nothing says party like comic book retailers.

Basically any retailer (or anyone who can convincingly pass themselves off as one) who goes to the Avatar Press booth #471 on Friday will get free entrance into the Avatar Friday Night event hosted by George R.R. Martin and Max Brooks.

Avatar evening convention events organised by publisher William Christensen have, in the past, been a mixture of glamour and debauchery, talked of in hushed tones by those lucky to get in – what they can remember of them anyway.

The Avatar Friday Night event will kick off at the Lakeside Center's Room E451 from 8pm and will start with a more literary tone, Max Brooks and George R.R. Martin both taking the stage, as everyone hits the bar.

A cash bar folks, Avatar aren't made of money.

Jacen Burrows, Mike Wolfer, Gianluca Pagliarani, Christos Gage, Brian Pulido will be attending (read, drinking) and the night will likely continue in one of Chicago's many notorious drinking dens.

This will be the first convention for Avatar's new Director of Sales, Keith Davidsen who is launching a number of direct market promotions over the next few months and in return for free entrance, he'll probably want to bend your ear a little about it all.

But that's for the booth. The night will be a business-free zone. Invites have been extended and accepted by the great and the good in comics. And if you're not a retailer and want in, sweet talk William Christensen. He responds well to a little tickle under the chin.
