Warner Buy Majority Stake In Arkham Asylum Developer – Create BatSynergy!

Warner Buy Majority Stake In Arkham Asylum Developer – Create BatSynergy!Warner Bros have bought 68.4% of London-based video game developer Rocksteady Studios, best known for last year's critical and commercial success, Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Warner already have a number of investments in the gaming sector but it's hard not to read into this some kind of synergy with the DC Entertainment announcements of late, and the focus on gaming based on the DC Universe by the likes of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee.

Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner's home entertainment group, who has taken a keen interest in DC Comics over the years, told the Financial Times:

The biggest gap this fills is that it locks in development talent on one of our most valuable pieces of intellectual property for games: Batman…. Even in a declining market, great developers are a scarce resource and incredibly valuable, and these guys proved with Arkham Asylum that they understood our characters. They're comic book guys. They love working with comic book characters.

I want a DMZ game, stat!
