Friday Runaround – Millerless Buck, Portmanful Pride And Brian Bendis Watches Avatar

MillerWatch: Talking about burying your lead. According to IGN, Frank Miller is no longer attached to any ongoing Buck Rogers movie treatment.

ZombieWatch: Natalie Portman signs on to play Elizabeth Bennet in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies. Yes.

AuctionWatch: Selling a Simpsons script for £340. The guy was given the script when he was eight years old, by Maggie Roswell. Seiously though why would you sell such a thing, why…

Mr Carter, 28, said he was selling his prized possession to pay for a trip to help Aids sufferers in Kenya.

Ah, okay, As you were.

SigningWatch: Kenn Minter will be signing copies of The Experts graphic novel tonight from 6 to 7:30 p.m, Morris Book Shop, 408 Southland Dr, Kentucky.

D'OrazioWatch: Did I mention Valerie D'Orazio is writing Punisher MAX? As possibly a cutting parody of the evils of publishing? Did I? Did I?

BendisWatch: Brian Bendis has seen/reviewed Avatar. He writes;

spectacle like no ones bidness, heavy handed themes laid down with a sledgehammer, and if he ever wrote an intelligent line of dialogue it would die of loneliness.

SlottWatch: As the character of Jim Rhodes turns from mostly robot to human in the War Machine series, one fan tweeted;

I love the idea that War Machine's true goal as a series was to undo Dan Slott's Intiative work.

Slott was on hand to retort, revealing the inner workings of the publisher;

Actually, the original plan in the Initiative WAS to have Rhodey go from "War Machine" back to human and thematically reverse the process of the way the kids/cadets had been turned into weapons. It was a long term thing. &, back when Tom Brevoort had 2 IM books: INVINCIBLE IM & the IM: SHIELD book, he was looking for a new hook for IM:SHIELD, and I said, "What if you gave the book to Rhodey?" So it was my own dopey idea to give up one of my best characters for the sake of being a Marvel "team player". :)

TweetWatch: Geoff Johns: In case anyone's wondering: universal remotes are not waterproof.
