Seriously, Avatar should so run an "After Green Lantern" ad once that film hits. Because, yes the similarities are obvious and probably intentional.

But this is dark police drama with superpowers rather than a superhero comic per se. In fact what costumes exist are probably a distraction that another draft may have removed (see Wanted) and the book has much more in common with the sub-genre of corrupted-policeman-staying-true-to-himself that fuels the likes of Dirty Harry. Except, as vengeful mass murdering policemen goes, this seems to have an aura of New Man/Liberal Police about it which is very unexpected. More to come.

Absolution #3 ships from Avatar today in the USA and tomorrow in the UK.
