The Apple Tablet And Longbox Up A Tree, Dee Oh Double Yoo Enn Ell Oh Ay Dee Eye Enn Gee

apple_tabletThat's the word, it's the word that you heard. Longbox, the comic book digital distribution system to be embedded in the much rumoured upcoming Apple Tablet e-reader, using iTunes as a distribution model, in the new year.

A journalist we've profiled before, Andy Ihnatko has been talking Longbox for some time and recently pointed the finger in the Chicago Sun Times, specifically saying "There are signs that the company is getting into the digital comic book market. Which is tantamount to saying 'Apple is helping to create a digital comic book market'" and concludes "I'm pretty sure that Apple is entering into a formal alliance with LongBox."

He cites evidence that Longbox CEO Rantz Hosely stated that he was mostly dealing with "a lengthy and complicated agreement with a seriously large company operating in the media space" and that they company "had received high-profile coverage in both the Engadget and Gizmodo blogs in the previous week". Which was basically Apple. And is something that "all of a sudden leaves us with a multinational launch with literally millions of installed users."

Wonderful what they can do these days, isn't it? With science and everything.
