VV Brown Shows Her Comic Book Chops – By Being Late

vvWe’ve come to expect it. Comic book creators announce project – and it’s late. Kick Ass, Planetary, Civil War, Final Crisis, we’re getting to expect it now. It’s part and parcel of the territory. So when singer songwriter VV Brown announced her own comic book City Of Abacus back in May, promising five issues up until Christmas… well, we should have seen it coming.

Creating it with her video director David Allain and describing it as “Manga Marxism” with a plot about “a young girl who has to liberate the city of Abacus”, ashcans were promised for the summer festival season with the first issue, “Travelling Like Light” to come out with her album of the same name in July.

The album came out, the comic didn’t come out. VV Brown then promised it would come out in September. It didn’t. And there’s no sign of it yet.

VV Brown and David Allain are judges in the ComICA-related CTRL Alt Shift comics competition previously plugged by Bleeding Cool. Maybe entrants might ask to see their credentials first…

Until then, oh go on let’s see one of their videos...
