EXCLUSIVE: Ricky Gervais Back On The Street – The Sesame Street!

6a00d83451c17f69e20112796f337828a4-800wiIt seems Elmo wasn't enough for one man.

The Ricky Gervais/Elmo outtakes  from this November's Sesame Street became a bit of an classic online. "It's called acting, Mr Gervais…. acting!" "N… is for Necrophilia!"

Well, it seems he'll be doing it again. A Sesame Street environmental special next year will star Ricky Gervais alongside the precocious-three-year-old girl Sesame Street character, Abby Cadabby. The leaked outtakes of which will probably show him grooming her.

abbyHow do we know this? Well at the Brand Licensing Europe show in London this week, it was all they could talk about. And Abby Cadabby dolls are being pushed hard and fast on the back of the environmental special for Christmas 2010, with an aim to get similar sales and character recognition as the ubiquitous Tickle Me Elmo (or Stomp On My Head Elmo as my four year old daughter prefers.) Abby is being focused on "developing pre-schooler's critical thinking skills", apparently.

Hmm. I'm not sure that producing several warehouses full of plastic toys in China, shipping them around the world and then selling them to kids is exactly in the spirit of an environmental special. But there you go.

I'm hoping for an appearance of Karl Pilkington anyway. He's pretty much as close to a muppet as you can get.

Here's a reminder of those out takes;
