Mark Millar – Anticipated Anthology, Geriatric Genitalia, Future Plans, Fury Wives

mark_millarMark Millar uses his Millarworld board for many things, keeping in touch with a fanbase, using them to bounce ideas of, sometimes a crowdsourcing resources, other times a way to announce items free of media interpretation. And evry now and then he runs a Millar Hour, like a live Q&A convention panel, where anyone can ask the strangest and more pertinent questions.

One just wrapped. Amidst the multi-millionaire Mark Millar's inability to buy a PC more than five years old and suffering considerable wi-fi problems as a result.

So what are the headlines?

Mark Millar plans a 2000AD style anthology comic for the UK. Millar used to write for 2000AD, including the likes of Canon Fodder, Big Dave and The Summer Offensive when, with Grant Morrison, they took over the title for a season annoying and delighting readers in differing measures.

Millar mentions the X-Men line revamp he'd touched on last week;

X-Men might be in our future. Hitchy and I will do something else at some point in future, but this could be anything. Maybe creator-owned, maybe Ultimates sequel. But I'm predicting we'll get something going in 2011 for a 2012 release and yes when you work in comics you have to plan ahead. Am writing my 2010 stuff at the moment.

Apparently we get to see CaptainAmerica's penis during a love scene in the next issue of Ultimate Avengers during a flashback… really? Really? Hmm. Oh and more believably;

Fury's wife is awesome. She's the bitch from Hell and you'll see her in issue three.

As for doing an Ultimate version of Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiuotti's Ash comic about a superhero firefighter;

Yes. But I would call it Ass and make it about a procologist.

That's the level we're at today. And as Mark left, hitting his computer with a hammer, he told that crowd that  part of the decision for Kick Ass to go to Lionsgate for distribution was because they agreed to distrubute the movie uncut, with trailers expected in the next few weeks.

Stop all the clocks. Millar Hour is over.
