<description>[...] It has been announced on Rich Johnston’s Bleeding Cool website that J. Michael Straczynski will be finishing up his run on The Mighty Thor in September. Regular readers know, of course, that Straczynski was pretty much single-handedly responsible for the nifty trick of making Thor a big hit after a few years of a low sale fueled death. Frankly, in my humble opinion, his exodus from the title is coming with perfect timing. While it is true that this reiteration of the Thunder God has definitely sold well and has been incredibly popular, it has also been plagued by one of the worse publishing schedules since its inception. Because of a publishing schedule that could be charitably described as ‘erratic’ sales have been steadily dropping for some issues now. I hope that Marvel is able to replace Straczynski and company with a creative team that is as sharp and, Odin willing, more productive. You can find the whole story behind his departure here.
